Earn miles with Delta Air Lines Skymiles and travel the world
Delta Air Lines has incorporated changes into the SkyMiles program. Its customers can now obtain redeemable miles based on the distance traveled, which will be awarded according to the price of the ticket.
A new mileage redemption system structure that improves award seat availability, and offers a single step at half the round trip price, also provides additional cash mile options, among other things.
The current accrual method is based on the distance traveled by a customer which will change to a model based on the price of the ticket purchased.
Customers can earn between five and 11 miles per dollar spent depending on their SkyMiles status, the updated program will better reward customers who spend more with Delta and provide them with better opportunities.
For travel marketed and issued by Delta partner airlines, members earn a percentage of the miles flown according to the fare class purchased and also earn bonus Medallion miles.
Customers have access to all seats on the firm’s flights as a reward, with no date restriction.
Flights and partner airlines eligible to earn miles

The booking class, coded in a letter of the alphabet, is shown on your electronic ticket or on your passenger itinerary receipt. It sometimes appears on your boarding pass, with the risk of confusing it with the travel cabin (economy class, business, etc.) which is also codified on a single letter.
For each booking class of each airline, there is a mileage allocation coefficient that should be applied to the distance of the flight. The classes / coefficients grid – in other words the mileage accumulation scale – is available on each company’s file, accessible through the list of participating companies.
For an itinerary comprising several flights (round trip, with stopovers, etc.), the calculation must be made for each flight separately. Please note, the booking class may differ from one flight to another.
The scales for certain companies sometimes set a minimum distance. In this case, the attribution coefficient applies to this minimum distance and not to the determined distance.
The Medallion member is at an advantage for shorter flights.
When are the miles awarded?
The miles are automatically credited to the passenger’s loyalty card within two weeks of their flight, provided they have mentioned their membership number when booking or during check-in (online or at the airport) and that he actually embarked.
Miles for a flight not taken are never awarded, even when the ticket is non-refundable.
Keep your boarding pass safe until your miles are actually credited. If a flight is not counted, a claim form allows you to obtain the missing miles within a period of between 2 weeks and 6 months after the date of the theft.
