Medallion Program: Get an upgrade

How to Upgrade to Business Class or First Class on Delta Airlines? This guide will help you upgrade your Delta Airlines flight to a higher class.

The first thing you’ll want to do is navigate to the airline’s home page. Then go to the ticket booking page. Once you are ready to pay for your purchase, you will have the option to upgrade your flight with Skymiles reward miles or cash.

If you already have a reservation with the US carrier, you will want to log into your Delta Airlines account and go to the “My Reservations” area. After getting to this section, you’ll want to carefully review all of your reservations for the one you want to upgrade. Click on the confirmation number of the reservation you wish to upgrade. After choosing the reservation you want to upgrade, locate the “Upgrade this reservation” button. Click this button and you will be able to choose which class you can switch to.

Here is a selection of products that can be upgraded for free, based on the products that can be purchased when booking a flight. When you search for flights on the Fly Delta app or delta.com, you can see the products offered on the flight results screen. If you would like to recheck an already booked flight, you can visit “My Trip” (also on the Fly Delta app or delta.com), find your reservation and open the seat map to see what products are available for that flight.
