United Airlines offers economy class passengers the option of reserving an alternate seat, called Economy Plus, the main benefit of which is providing an additional 12.7 cm of legroom. According to the US airline, with the exception of passengers who have purchased a Basic Economy Class ticket, anyone can opt for Economy Plus.
