Athens-New York, a direct flight with American Airlines

American Airlines will launch its 2021 summer season with a new direct flight between Athens and New York. The new route will be on a Boeing 777-200 from June 3, 2021.

All service classes (Economy, Premium Economy and Business) will be able to access the WiFi service and the in-flight entertainment service.

The new US route to Athens is a milestone for the US carrier’s strategic alliance with the airline Jet Blue. It should not be forgotten that this cooperation is expected to increase interconnectivity and access to the largest network on the northeast side of the country.

“We look forward to the launch of our new New York to Athens route which will provide a better connection between these two major cities,” said Tom Lattig, vice president of sales and distribution for American Airlines.

The flight will depart Eleftherios Venizelos at 11:00 am and arrive in New York at 3:05 pm. Likewise, the departure from New York will be at 4:20 pm and the arrival in Athens is estimated at 8:50 am.

It should be remembered that American is the first American airline to adopt the VeriFLY platform which offers an easy way to submit a negative result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) test, as well as other completed documents required by all international travel destinations to the United States of America.
