Thales to equip new American Airlines fleets
American Airlines has chosen the latest generation of AVANT in-flight multimedia from Thales to equip its new Airbus A321XLR and Boeing 787-9 which will provide transcontinental and international flights.
American Airlines will be the first customer to fly devices with Thales’s new line of Optiq displays, the industry’s first wide dynamic range (HDR) 4K multimedia displays to feature Samsung’s QLED technology.
‘Optiq offers the best multimedia experience to passengers during their flight, with unmatched picture quality thanks to more than a billion colors. The system allows bluetooth connections so that each passenger can connect their wireless headphones, ‘the group indicates.
American Airlines has also chosen Thales high-power charging solutions to equip each seat, in all classes, with 60 watt USB type C sockets and AC sockets.
